SA Leadership Election
March 12, 2015
The 67th Plenary meeting of 3GPP TSG Service and System Aspects, held in Shanghai this week, has elected Erik Guttman of Samsung as its new Chairman, with Christian Toche (Huawei), Daisuke Yokota (Softbank) and Gregory Schumacher (Sprint) elected Vice Chairmen.
TSG SA has responsibility for the overall architecture and service capabilities of 3GPP systems, as well as being the group that has a responsibility for cross TSG co-ordination.
Mr. Guttman is currently the chairman of TSG SA Working Group 2, in his second successful term since election in 2011. His contribution as Chairman, lead Samsung SA2 delegate and as a Rapporteur of various work items ensure that his appointment will be another positive addition to the 3GPP leadership.
The picture, here right, shows Balazs Bertenyi – the sitting SA Chairman who has completed the maximum number of sequential terms as Chair - handing over the Chairman’s bell during the meeting yesterday.
(The official Appointment by the 3GPP PCG will follow in due course)
