RAN2 – Radio Layer 2 and Radio Layer 3 RRC

Within the 3GPP Technical Specification Group Radio Access Network (TSG RAN), RAN WG2 (RAN2) is in charge of the Radio Interface architecture and protocols (e.g. MAC, RLC, PDCP, SDAP), the specification of the Radio Resource Control protocol and the Radio Resource Management procedures.

RAN2 is responsible for the development of specifications dealing with Evolved UTRA, NR radio access (NR) and beyond.
