Attendees at the 3GPP Plenaries in June 2022 had the opportunity to attend the ‘3GPP Newcomer Orientation Session’, held on the Tuesday morning of TSGs#96 meetings, in Budapest.

The agenda for the session was based around a series of introductory presentations by the three TSG chairs and was followed by Q&A, which led to a variety of topical discussions about the return to physical meetings, the role of the various working groups, the functions of the chairs and vice-chairs.

Future newcomer sessions?

Only delegates to the Plenaries could register and attend, with some places available for remote participation (via go to meeting) for registered meeting participants - attending remotely - only, not external persons on that occasion.

The next planned face-to-face TSG meetings are scheduled for March 20-24, 2023 (Rotterdam). If time allows, the ‘3GPP Newcomer Orientation Session’ will again be held - for the benefit of newcomers to the project.
