The Environmental Engineering (EE) committee of ETSI has published its latest Technical Specification , to help operators improve the energy efficiency of their networks.
According to this weeks' ETSI Press release: "...TS 102 706, developed by ETSI 'EE' Technical Committee, standardizes the measurement method for energy efficiency for multiple mobile network technologies, such as GSM/EDGE, W-CDMA/HSPA, LTE and WiMAX networks."
Although only Wide Area Base Stations are covered in this version of the specification, other Radio Base Stations will be considered in a future versions.
