4G Americas Press Release, July 15 2013

A white paper on MIMO and Smart Antennas for Mobile Broadband Systems has been published by the 3GPP Partner, 4G Americas.

With wireless traffic expected to grow over 10x in the next five years, the paper looks at "increasingly capable smart antenna solutions" as a vital companion to the call for more spectrum for LTE.

The 4G Americas white paper focuses on the following areas:
  • Antenna Fundamentals
  • MIMO with LTE
  • Antenna Configurations for MIMO
  • Performance of the Various Antenna Configurations
  • Analysis of Antenna Configurations for 4X2 and 4X4 MIMO
  • Antenna Array Calibration

MIMO and Smart Antennas for Mobile Broadband Systems, was written collaboratively by members of 4G Americas. A previous white paper published in 2012 offers more detail and pictorial information and may be downloaded at www.4gamericas.org.
