Dear Alexander,

  Please find SASKEN comments on the test case 9.4.8 submitted for the approval.

1. In this test case, tcv_MM_TestExecution should be set to TRUE at the beginning of the test case,

to handle any Attach Request from the MS in NAS_OtherwiseFail test step.

2. In the TTCN row 19 is redundant as the attenuationLevel for individual Cells will be updated inside test step ts_SetAttenuationLevel.

3. As per 34.123-1 initial Conditions for this test case the EF_LOCI filed in the USIM should be set as PLMN1.

However it does not mention what should be the value set for LAC in this field.

Now as per 24.008 section 4.4.3:
"The IMSI attach procedure is used only if the update status is UPDATED and if the stored Location Area Identification is the same as the one which is actually broadcasted on the BCCH of the current serving cell. Otherwise a normal location updating procedure."

Thus if the LAC value is set in USIM is same as the LAC broadcasted in SIB 1 for Cell A, UE on power on will perform Location Area Update with cause as IMSI ATTACH.

However at the Step 6 of the expected sequence the cause is expected as Normal.

Now we feel there are two ways to overcome this problem:

1. In the initial Conditions need to mention that LAC value in USIM should be different than broadcasted in SIB 1 of Cell A.

2. Remove the check for Cause at Step 6 of the expected sequence.

We feel second solution should be okay as it does not affect the test case purpose, test procedure or the test requirements.

If R&S is okay with our suggestion on Point No 3. (i.e. prose change request) Sasken is ready to put this Issue for discussion in the next T1 meeting.
